The Story Behind Racing Xtravaganza

For more than a decade, Racing Xtravaganza has brought together racers, teams, businesses and fans to celebrate the sport that connects us all.

Under the leadership of Scott and April, Racing Xtravaganza grew on a solid foundation and became an important part of the Central Pennsylvania racing community. In the spring of 2026, Steve and Marti Hobson were offered the opportunity to purchase Racing Xtravaganza and carry that tradition forward.

For the Hobsons, taking on RX isn't about changing what made the event special. It's about building upon it.

Honoring the Foundation

As Racing Xtravaganza enters this new chapter, one of Steve and Marti's biggest goals is to honor the foundation Scott and April spent more than a decade building.

At its heart, RX is about racing—and not just one division, one track or one type of competitor.

It's about all of racing.

From the grassroots racer working late nights in the garage to championship-winning teams, track personnel, businesses, families and fans, everyone plays a role in making the racing community what it is.

RX wants to celebrate them all.

Getting Back to the Grassroots

Grassroots racing has always been built on passion.

It's families spending their weekends at the racetrack. It's generations working on cars together. It's kids growing up in the pits who eventually find themselves behind the wheel. It's competitors helping one another get back on track—and then racing each other for the win.

Those stories are a huge part of what Steve and Marti want Racing Xtravaganza to celebrate.

As RX grows, you'll see an increased focus on the history, families and connections that have shaped racing in Central Pennsylvania and continue to shape its future.

More Than a Car Show

Racing Xtravaganza is a place to showcase incredible race cars and accomplishments, but Steve and Marti also want RX to be a place where the racing community can learn from one another.

For 2027, that means expanding seminars and roundtable discussions and focusing on subjects that matter to racers right now.

The goal is to create conversations that bring together different perspectives from across the sport—giving racers, teams, businesses and fans opportunities to learn, ask questions, share experiences and help racing continue to evolve.

Celebrating Every Corner of Racing

Every division has accomplishments worth recognizing.

Every racer has a story.

And every generation has contributed something to the sport we have today.

One of the goals moving forward is to make Racing Xtravaganza a place where those accomplishments are celebrated—from today's competitors to the racers and families whose history helped build the sport throughout our region.

It's about remembering where racing came from while looking ahead to where it's going.

The Next Chapter Begins

Steve and Marti are incredibly excited for what lies ahead, but Racing Xtravaganza's next chapter isn't just about its new owners.

It's about the racing community that has supported RX for more than a decade—and the racers, families, fans, tracks, organizations, vendors and businesses who will help shape its future.

The foundation is already here.

Now it's time to build on it.

We'll see you January 29–30, 2027 at the York Expo Center as we come together once again to celebrate racing—its history, its families, its accomplishments and its future.
